4.Wainscoting
Wainscoting is a term referring to wooden decorative paneling applied to lower 3-4ft of an interior wall.
It consists of panel and frame.
They are like repeated architectural motifs on walls.
Traditionally was made of solid wood, but these days wainscoting is also made from plywood, plastic, and MDF.
PURPOSE OF WAINSCOTING
For centuries, it was used as a wall accent, insulation and to prevent damage to walls.
In modern buildings, it acts as a decorative feature.
USED IN entries, stairways, family rooms, dining spaces, kids room, baths,etc.

Raised Panel Wainscoting

Made up of raised and fielded panels that are glued, pinned, assembled at workshop.
Has skirting boards, paneling and top trims.
Flat Panel Wainscoting

Board and Batten

Consists of boards/panels and thin strips of wood alternatively.
The top and bottom usually has a wider rail.
The width of the boards is usually 1-foot-wide and battens about 1/2-inch wide.
BeadBoard

Wooden tiles are interlocked in a tongue and groove system.
One edge of the tile is protruded and the edge has a groove.
